Rhonda Stewart Jones, LCSW

Rhonda Stewart Jones holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, a Master of Social Work Degree from Smith College, and a certificate in Military and Veteran’s Mental Health from Widener University. Additionally, she is trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to couples therapy.  Rhonda is currently completing a certification in EMDR with the Parnell Institute which will allow her to more effectively support clients who have experienced significant trauma.

Rhonda is passionate about her work and has served tirelessly in both the public and private sectors.  Rhonda began her career serving youth and families who have experienced sexual trauma and abuse in Baltimore City.  She went on to support children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, including serving as the Clinical Director of one Maryland’s largest outpatient mental health clinics.  Prior to transitioning to private practice, Rhonda most recently worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center providing therapy to active-duty service members and retirees.  Her specialties are working with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.

Rhonda also enjoys working to reduce the stigma often associated with mental health challenges and addressing barriers to treatment.  She has served as an Expert Provider for the government’s Supporting Youth with Incarcerated Parents program and provided a host of additional workshops and trainings on mental health topics. Rhonda further appreciates contributing to the growth and professional development of other mental health professionals by providing supervision and consultation to those who share her commitment to service.
